LME aluminium price deflects 4.79 % Y-o-Y to reach US$2215.5/t; SHFE aluminium heightens by US$9/t Y-o-Y

LME aluminium opened at US$2283 per tonne yesterday, with its high and low at US$2283 per tonne and US$2257 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2265 per tonne, down 0.74 per cent. 

The LME aluminium live price chart, on December 19, displayed that there have been slight hikes in aluminium prices. The LME aluminium cash bid price and the LME aluminium official price soared by US$2.50 per tonne or 0.11 per cent to officially close at US$2,215 per tonne and US$2,215.50 per tonne.
On December 19, last year, the LME aluminium price was US$2,327 per tonne, which is why a Year-on-Year slump of US$111.50 per tonne or 4.79 per cent can be calculated.
The London Metal Exchange graph flashed that the 3-month bid price and the 3-month offer price escalated by US$10.50 per tonne or 0.46 per cent, stopping at US$2,272 per tonne and US$2,272.50 per tonne, respectively.
The December 24 bid price and the December 24 offer price increased by US$10 per tonne or 0.42 per cent, arriving at US$2,383 per tonne and US$2,388 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock collected 6,975 tonnes or 1.38 per cent, officially resting at 511,450 tonnes. Live warrants stood at 281,100 tonnes, augmenting by 10,925 tonnes or 4.04 per cent. Cancelled warrants halted at 230,350 tonnes, plunging by 3,950 tonnes or 1.68 per cent.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price settled at US$2,268.50 per tonne, up US$26.40 per tonne or 1.18 per cent.

SHFE aluminium price
Today, on December 20, the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) aluminium price chart measured a rise of US$17 per tonne or 0.64 per cent. Last year, on December 20, the SHFE aluminium price was US$2,660 per tonne, which means there has been a Year-on-Year hike of US$9 per tonne or 0.34 per cent.
Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2401 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18965 per tonne, with its low and high at RMB 18900 per tonne and RMB 19000 per tonne before closing at RMB 18920 per tonne, down RMB 70 per tonne or 0.37 per cent. 
SHFE 2307 aluminium added RMB 595 per tonne or 3.38 per cent to RMB 18,185 per tonne. The open interest fell 11,785 lots to 256,640 lots.
